John Wheeler

	John 'Mike' Wheeler, age 59, of Pinckneyville, passed away at his home after a long battle with cancer on Sunday morning, November 17, 2002.
	John was born in Murphysboro on August 31, 1943, the son of Claude W. and Laura L. (Dillinger) Wheeler.  He worked as an electrician and plumber for Holder's All American Home Center in Pinckneyville.  He loved working on and restoring classic cars and fishing.
	John is survived by his brother, Ronald F. Wheeler and wife Martha of Murphysboro; a sister, Patsy L. Patterson of Percy; an uncle, Bob Dillinger of Florida; an aunt, Velma Barioux of Louisiana; two cousins, Mary Jane Hunt and Nancy Parker; nephews, Wesley Patterson of Pinckneyville, Ken Patterson of Percy and Steven Wheeler of Indiana and his caregiver and friend, Wilma Norris.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Michael Patterson.
	Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 20 at 11 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville with Pastor Shaw DeMent officiating.  Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until services.
	Memorials may be made to the Paradise Baptist Church of Tamaroa.
